I'm an administrator on Commons, and also on the English Wikipedia, and am currently highly active on Commons. I'm also a member of the OTRS team. At the moment most of my efforts are focused on categorisation work related to Devon, but I'm also uploading a fair number of images.

Images

A number of my uploads have received recognition - to date I have uploaded 2 featured pictures, 55 quality images and 3 valued images. I have uploaded in excess of 5000 files, of which are 238 photographs I have taken myself and over 3000 are tropical cyclone track maps.

Dartmoor

I've started up a project to try and get a comprehensive set of photographs of everything related to Dartmoor National Park (in the UK). It will be a long term project, but the structure on my subpages will assist there.

I'm also working on the categorisation of Dartmoor specifically, and Devon as a whole - following category trees will help there.

[] Devon
[] Dartmoor

Devon

Thanks to the mass upload of truly amazing quality pictures from Geograph, the existing category scheme was been swamped. I'm working to try and bring some semblance of order back again. My plan is to ensure all geographic files are categorised to:

  1. Parish level (or suburb level in the 3 major urban areas), when appropriate and possible.
  2. General subject categories to county level.
  3. Dartmoor/Exmoor categories when relevant.

This has been done, however further more detailed categorisation will always be needed.

Maps

I'm working with data from the OS OpenData release to create a series of location type maps for Great Britain (unfortunately not Northern Ireland). See User:Nilfanion/Maps for my progress, I will ultimately upload at least 500 files - and if I do highlighted area maps as well then the total will be more like 10,000.

Tropical cyclones

A lot of my initial work was related to tropical cyclones. I am unlikely to upload more images in this area again, primarily as the track-map generation has been spread out amongst a number of users now. However, I will provide any support requested related to that subject on Commons - such as bot tasks and can probably advise on the use of the track map package for slightly more complex tasks (cumulative tracks).
